April 2006
Xavier Molinari, Etienne Atger

Travel from the 22/04 to the 1/05

Word of the Lord to Xavier before leaving: “the time of the dryness is finished, it is the time of the rain season”

We arrived on Saturday 22 in full heart of the dry season. It is extremely hot. No rain in Burkina for 6 months. However Sunday it rained a good part of the day and the following days remained covered. For much it is an unexpected miracle in this period of the year. Several prophetic words in the country since the beginning of the year, announce a time of change of season, time of blessing on the country.    We really have the feeling to arrive at Ouagadougou in the timing of God. It is a prepared time.

Our time is organized and coordinated by Séraphin Guigma de Jeunesse on mission (YWAM). Excellent preparatory work! Séraphin which was mentored by Etienne Atger, has shared the vision of Ethnic for many years. The way our vision resonates within him confirms many aspects of what we are developing. He becomes a natural associate in the project in Burkina Faso.

Meetings with the body of Christ:
Sunday, each one of us attended two worship services in two different churches. French worship and worship in Moré. That afternoon, we met with the Messengers of the King, a group of Christian university students. They are young people who have prepared our arrival in the prayer for several weeks. They will be very involved in the organisation of the public meetings that we will hold.

Monday, we sent out radio transmissions on God’s economy and Ethnic. Our goal is to mobilize people to attend the conference in weekend.

We held a seminar in a church for three evenings. The Assemblies of God is the main denomination in Burkina. The meeting was held at Pastor Jacques Compaoré’s church. We spoke on the topic ofhe relation of the Christian with money and work. Approximately 350, on average, participated each evening. There was a great opening within the church. Several prophetic words are given to us for the country during these evenings. We had a wonderful time of visitation of the Holy Spirit. The pastor is very touched and very open. It was not gained in advance because the Assemblies of God have rather a reputation to be very conservative.

Weekend, we held a paying conference. This is exceptional in Burkina, the conferences are generally free, especially when they are foreigners who come to speak. We taught Friday evening, Saturday all day and Sunday after midday. That is to say 11 hours of meetings were held. 73 participants registered: pastors, tradesmen, students, contractors. Our venue was a conference room known as of the “Chargers”, in the centre town. The response was marked by excellent listening. The people were very open to our teaching, in spite of the very new topics; sometimes in contradiction with the tradition of the churches. We saw a great thirst and a true freedom to share. We felt a true presence of the Lord. The echoes are extremely positive. Pastor Jacques Compaoré will organize, along with Séraphin, a second conference near several participants. It is unanimously asked that we returned to bring the continuation of our conference.

During the week, we met Pastor Freeman, president of the FEME (Federation of the Evangelical Churches and Missions) body representative of the church in Burkina. Mr Freeman is close to Dennis Peacocke and thus very open to our projects. He was able to attend the conference because another seminar is organized at the same dates. Wish to imply the FEME for our next conference. We see with him the principle of also organizing one day a National Consultation on B.A.M. the FEME will be organizing.

Meetings in the economic field:
We had a meeting with Mr Bonané, a sales manager of HAGE Matériaux, the most largest, and important company in the country selling building materials. The Property of a Lebanese Christian, HAGE materials is a manufacturer of paint. We presented the products of TDM, an insecticide paint. Mr. Bonane was very interested. We will explore the possibility of developing a partnership for the manufacturing of paint in their factory. He also wishes to speak about our products near other manufacturers and distributors of the under-area (Mali, Ivory Coast, Bénin, etc)

Meeting twice with Mr Zaba, “uncle” of Guigma Seraphin. Mr Zaba is a director of the Mines for Burkina. He is a geologist and chemical engineer. It is he, which set up the organization of the gold bearing exploitation for the country. He knows perfectly all the system; he set up the fight against the fraud. We expose our project to him. He seems enthusiastic and very encouraging. He proposes a process to start with. We had a second meeting with him at the end of the stay. Mr Zaba started to work on our project. He proposes to seek for us 4 or 5 sites for the exploitation of the gold, he explains us the steps to be followed and proposes an outline of estimate for the installation of such a project (project detailed in appendix). He proposes to us to meet a notary of his friends, Maître Balama, in order to discuss the details of the creation of a company under the burkinabé laws.

Meeting with Maître Balama. We saw with him, the rules in Burkina for the creation of a company.

Meeting with Patrice Chevalier, contractor. Mr Chevalier is Christian and took part in the conference. He was touched and blessed by the conference and wishes to develop a partnership with us. He is a contractor for water, energy and the infrastructures in the under-area. He knows a very strong growth of its activity and is one of the richest men of the country. Lives in Burkina since 23 years and is married to a woman from Burkina. He clearly told us that he has money and wants to be able to invest it in the projects of the Lord. We think of asking him whether it agrees to rent us an office which would enable us with the domiciliation of the company.

Next step:

Etienne will take another trip to Burkina by the end of June. The objectives are to meet with several people in the government (State secretary for Mining, state secretary for justice and one general in charge of the mining police). His objectives also to create the new company and to open the bank accounts.
